SAFETY:
As a founding member of the National Association of Tower Erectors (NATE),
Mikab Corporation has helped push for stronger and standardized safety and
training practices in the tower industry. Our President, Wesley Weis, has
been a member of the NATE OSHA Relations Committee since the first NATE
organizational meeting.
Mikab Corp. uses the NATE Accident Prevention, Safety and Health
Program Guide as the foundation of our own Safety Program. Our
training program utilizes a wide variety of in-house and outsourced educational
and instructional resources.
Each of our certified climbers has completed not one, but two independent
climbing, safety and rescue training courses. The first course is the well-known
and industry standard ComTrain Tower Climbing Safety and Rescue course.
The second is a 16 Hour OHSA qualified climber course given on site in our
New Jersey office by Western Iowa Tech Communtiy College. We have also engaged
the American Red Cross to certify our climbers in Adult CPR and Standard
First Aid. Mikabs ongoing training includes mandatory Monday morning
safety meetings, along with daily, on-site tailgate meetings. Mikabs
tower crews have experience with all types of communication support structures;
including, guyed towers, self-supporting towers, monopoles, flag poles,
tree poles, silos, smokestacks, rooftops, lighthouses, billboards and steeples.
Our crews have worked on thousands of job sites for over thirty-two years
and never once have we been cited by OSHA for a violation of any kind.
